Where in Mexico can you fly home nonstop?
Pick your home airport and see every place in Mexico you can reach without a connection, which airlines fly it, and whether it runs all year or only in winter.
The short answer: Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Mexico City and Guadalajara have nonstops to dozens of US and Canadian cities. Most smaller cities have a handful, usually to airline hubs like Houston and Dallas. Pick your home airport below to see exactly where you can go.
Where can you fly nonstop from home?

When you live in Mexico, the flight home stops being a vacation detail and becomes part of daily life: family visits, doctor's appointments, a parent who needs help. A nonstop turns that into a half-day trip. A connection through Mexico City or Houston can turn it into a whole day.
So before choosing a city, it's worth knowing which ones connect to yours. This page lists every passenger nonstop between 18 Mexican cities where foreigners commonly live and the US and Canada: 257 routes, 191 of them year-round, reaching 69 US and Canadian airports.
Which Mexican cities are best connected
US and Canadian airports you can fly to nonstop
Year-round Seasonal
The big tourist airports dominate: Cancún has nonstops to 58 US and Canadian airports, Puerto Vallarta 34, Los Cabos 33, Mexico City 30 and Guadalajara 25. If you live within reach of one of them, you can probably fly home nonstop wherever home is.
The colonial cities in the middle of the country have far fewer, and mostly to the hubs of the airlines that fly there: Houston (United), Dallas (American), Atlanta and Detroit (Delta's partner Aeroméxico), and Volaris to California and Chicago. If your home airport isn't one of those, plan on connecting, or on driving to a bigger airport. From San Miguel de Allende, Querétaro and León are each about an hour and a half by road; from Lake Chapala, Guadalajara's airport is under an hour.
If you're flying to Canada
Most flights between Canada and Mexico are winter-only, timed for snowbirds. Year-round nonstops exist mainly from the three biggest Canadian airports:
- Toronto: Cancún, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta all year.
- Vancouver: the same five.
- Calgary: Cancún, Los Cabos, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta all year.
- Edmonton, Montréal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Québec City and Hamilton have year-round service to Cancún, and some also to Puerto Vallarta or Mexico City.
Everything else, including Mérida, Tulum, Mazatlán, Huatulco, Puerto Escondido, Manzanillo and Zihuatanejo to Canada, runs in winter only, usually from November or December to April. The one exception runs the other way: Flair flies León–Vancouver in summer. If you'd live in Mexico year-round, check the season in the lookup above before you count on a route.

Two airports with no flights to the US or Canada
- Mexico City's second airport, Felipe Ángeles (AIFA, NLU), has no nonstops to the US or Canada on sale. All international flights to the US leave from Benito Juárez (MEX).
- Tijuana (TIJ) has none either. Instead, the Cross Border Xpress (CBX) bridge lets passengers walk from Tijuana's terminal to the US side and San Diego, so it works as a crossing rather than a flight.
How this was checked
I built NeverLayover, a site that only lists nonstop flights, and these routes come from an audit I ran on it for this page. Every route here had a passenger nonstop on sale in a search of flights for winter and summer 2027. Charter and cargo-only flights were left out, and so were 55 routes that appear in airline route data but had no flight on sale, including some announced for this winter, such as Calgary–Mérida.
- Year-round means on sale in every month the airline has published. Volaris, Viva Aerobus, Frontier and Flair hadn't published summer 2027 yet, so their year-round routes are year-round so far.
- Seasonal months are the months on sale now, checked on a few days each month. A route that flies once or twice a week can be missed in its first or last month, so a window may be a little longer in reality.
- Airlines add and extend winter flights through the autumn. I'll re-run this before each snowbird season.
